Josune Urrutia Asua holds the Research-Creation Chair in Oncology and Immunology – ICI/Iméra. She explores the potential of drawing and graphic narratives to make cancer research more accessible and human. In Marseille, she uses art to illustrate scientific advances and help people understand this complex disease. Inspired by authors such as Siddhartha Mukherjee, she is also developing an archive documenting the experiences of female artists facing cancer. As an artist and educator, Josune combines art, pedagogy, and interdisciplinarity to transform scientific communication.
