From September 15 to 19, 2026, in Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Aubagne, and Marseille, the 7th edition of the Festival of Science and the Arts (Jeu de l'Oie) will focus on the theme: “Human / Animal. A Shared Adventure?”
Against a backdrop of collapsing biodiversity, health crises, and the questioning of a worldview that places humans at the center of everything, the goal is to (re)think human–animal relationships based on mindful coexistence.
The festival aims to bring together diverse approaches, disciplines, and practices to understand how the boundaries between humans and animals are negotiated, how alliances, conflicts, and shared vulnerabilities are (re)defined, and how the representations and norms that shape our relationships with living beings are transforming.
All disciplines will be drawn upon as distinct approaches to thinking about or rethinking our “shared adventure” with animals—domestic or wild, real or imaginary.
