The Cancer and Immunology Institute's first retreat day took place on 11/07/2024 at the Épopée Village.
In a nutshell:
At the Cancer and Immunology Institute's first retreat day on July 11, 2024, the teams structured their work around three main axes: Training, Research, and the Socio-Economic and Cultural World.
-
Training:
-
The teams discussed the development of bioinformatics in partnership with the MarMaRa Institute and future workshops in artificial intelligence, identifying speakers and specific pedagogical needs.
-
Training initiatives in scientific culture and method were considered, such as setting up a Journal Club and tutored seminars to prepare students for the Summer school.
-
Research:
-
Collaboration with the Cancéropôle has been strengthened to finance translational fellowships and seek funding for the Summer school.
-
Initiatives have been launched to develop inter-unit projects on themes such as organoids and oncology, and to integrate clinical research, particularly around themes such as microbiota and immuno-oncology.
-
Socio-Economic and Cultural World Axis:
-
The team has considered innovative formats such as afterworks to bring together students and biotech professionals, as well as setting up technology seminars accessible to corporate engineers.
-
Partnerships have been envisaged with institutions such as the IAE and the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Finally, a number of cross-functional initiatives have been defined to strengthen the commitment of clinicians to research, notably through thesis grants, summer internships in laboratories, and days dedicated to medical students to encourage vocations in research.
